Can having the same sickness over and over again be caused by your living environment?

I am a college student and moved into a house this August. Since I have moved in I have gotten sick several times about one/two weeks apart. I have the same symptoms usually with drainage in my throat. I have gone to my doctor and they give me stuff, but can this be caused by living in the house I currently am living in? I have never been this sick over and over again before I lived here, so does it have any relation?
