What are the adptations for plants who need to get nutrients in the Amazon Rainforest?

I'm doing a project on plants in the Amazon who have adapted to get what they need like water and light. The only adaptation I know for nutrients are shallow lateral roots but that is it! Please can anyone tell me some adaptations for nutrients!
