How do you use the aux jack in the scion tc?

I own a 2006 Scion TC and am trying to hook up my Zune through the aux port in the center console. I have tried plugging it in with a cable and turning my stereo on but there is not source on to change and I cant figure out how to make the port work! Any suggestions?
